The 2015 Brazil accelerator was a five-day “Investment Preparedness” Lab designed hosted at Rede+ Salvador. It was designed to prepare Brazilian impact-focused businesses with the tools necessary to take on investment capital and scale their ventures.
Attending ventures included:
- Plataforma Saúde, a company that uses mobile technology to facilitate access to health services for at-risk populations in Brazil.
- SDW works in partnership with communities in Brazil, providing people with sustainable access to safe drinking water, sanitation principles, and improved agricultural resources.
- Onde Fui Roubado, a collaborative social network focused on complaints of people and warning users and the government.
To top off the Lab, 6 of our 9 participants were finalists for the 1776 Challenge Cup Salvador, a global pitching competition that we hosted. Doing the Lab proud, one of our startups – Plataforma Saúde – was chosen as 1 of 3 winners!
“The Brazil Lab was a great experience for SDW in many ways: pitch improvement, mission formulation, information on the types of investments, contacts with mentors (who helped a lot) and, of course, the exchange of experience and learning with other Brazilian startups.”
– Anna Luisa Beserra, SDW
