Colorado 2015

Boulder and Denver, Colorado, USA

The first 5-day accelerator in Colorado (outside of our 5-week Global accelerator which is also hosted in Colorado) was a “Business Model Validation” designed hosted at Sterling Rice Group. It was designed to provide Colorado-based early-stage entrepreneurs with a step-by-step methodology to rapidly validate their venture’s business model.

The second 5-day accelerator was an “Investment Preparedness” Lab designed to prepare similar ventures with the tools necessary to take on investment capital and scale their ventures.

Attending ventures included:

  • Community Funded provides technology and resources to empower communities to promote ideas and gain support through collaboration.
  • The Coterie is Denver’s first women’s coworking space, providing members with a beautiful space that is flexible and convenient, while being energizing and supportive.
  • The Mile High Workshop creates and supports employment opportunities and provides job training for members of the community seeking to rebuild from addictions, homelessness, and incarceration.

Results: These Labs in Colorado were the first 5-day programs run by Unreasonable Institute and led to the launching of 10 more Labs around the world in 2015. From workshops to happy hours to in-market interviews, the entrepreneurs did not sit still for long. We walked away knowing that we had to expand this model and find teams to run Labs around the world.
