New Zealand 2015
Christchurch, New Zealand
The 2015 New Zealand accelerator was a five-day “Business Model Validation” Lab hosted by the team at Ministry of Awesome. It was designed to provide early-stage New Zealand entrepreneurs with a step-by-step methodology to rapidly validate their venture’s business model.
Attending ventures included:
- Global Equity Brokers visits partners in the field to ensure that investments are delivering meaningful outcomes.
- P3 Foundation is New Zealand’s leading youth movement with a vision to see extreme poverty end within our generation.
- Vocalsaints supports children across Wellington with their range of speech therapy, group classes and presentations.
Featured Takeaway: Over the course of 5 days, we saw lots of social entrepreneurs put their ideas to the test and open up about the challenges and possibilities. After feedback from Unreasonable Lab Teammates and being advised to “fall in love with a problem, not a solution”, one venture decided to pivot and pursue a new answer.
““We were definitely in love with our solution. Pivoting turned everything on its head, which was scary. But now, we’ve made progress — it’s just not in a straight line.” – Harry Waddell, entrepreneur
