560 million people with disabilities live in poverty and are often treated as outcasts, hidden in their homes or even abandoned as children. PlayAble implements adapted physical activities through existing local organizations for people with disabilities in Kenya. PlayAble works with experienced local organizations assisting them in the implementation phase of adaptive sport projects. Sports are a very cost-effective mean of physical rehabilitation that also increasing self-confidence and social interaction. Furthermore, PlayAble partners with local leaders as coaches during sporting events who deliver messages about rights of people with disabilities to their communities.
